The Rational Cloning: Weekly Ideas #11
Zeckhauser on Sidecar/UU Investing, Jeremy Raper's Thread on Asymmetric/Special Sit Ideas
Welcome to the 11th edition of the Rational Cloning Newsletter (Weekly Ideas Series).
Helping you discover the best ideas of others.
Happy cloning.
I unfortunately didn’t have much time this week to trawl through that many ideas, so below is a thread of Tweets I found informative / thought provoking / contain promising investment ideas.
Tweets That Make You Go... Hmm 🤔
Soros to Byron Wien: "the trouble with you is that you go to work every day and you think that because you go to work every day, you should do something.
And you do something every day and you don't realize when it's a special day."
🧵Ideas of good investors🧵
In this thread I will share the main investment idea of some of the best investors I know.
A lot of quality in this thread
Thank you for your collaboration. 🙏🏼
Disclaimer: None of the ideas are buy or sell recommendations
This paper changed my life.
In hundreds of hours of reading and exploring each year, there may be just one or two moments that really move the needle.
In 2007 I saw Zeckhauser in Boston, and immediately knew the ideas in this paper had tremendous power.
What's the most compelling/asymmetric special-situation setup you have in your book now? What should Raper Capital attack with both hands?
Shoot your shot 😄😄🚀🚀
If you’re into gambling, poker and option trading, this reading/listening list is for you. My very personal take-away: don’t be on the opposite side of these guys. Play games you can win because you have an edge. “If you don’t know who the patsy at the poker table is, it’s you”.
